About the UT PAC
Educate, Enlighten and Entertain
Since its inception in 1981, the University of Texas at Austin Performing Arts  Center (UT PAC) has brought the world to Texas. UT PAC artists descend from  every corner of the globe, and are cultural ambassadors who share their gifts  with the people of Austin and Central Texas communities. Now in its 25th year,  The University of Texas Performing Arts Center continues to be recognized as one  of the top five university performing arts centers in North America and remains  true to its mission to educate, enlighten, and entertain.

The UT PAC presents in six theatres housing 200 to 3,000 audience members.  Passing through our stages are over 60 productions a year ranging from world-renowned chamber ensembles to some of the biggest pop stars to blockbuster Broadway shows. The PAC is no stranger to new work, its commissioning, and its performance. Such artists as Joshua Bell, the Kronos Quartet, and Philip Glass have performed works for the first time in our theatres, and some of these artists, as well as world artists such as Julio Bocca's Ballet Argentino and Delfos Danza Contemporanea have accepted UT PAC commissions to tour new work throughout the Americas.

Annually, over 750,000 individuals pass through our doors and 10,000 individuals of all ages have the opportunity to experience a program as part of our Lifelong Learning initiative. ArtesAmericas, our Latino and Latin American initiative, has now achieved its goal of bringing 1/3 of the PAC's programming from Latino and Latin American artists.

EDUCATE...
"I got my start at the UT PAC majoring in Theatre Studies. It was true hands-on experience. I learned not only how to successfully manage events but was also given the opportunity to work with Broadway professionals and learn how they operate. Since graduating in 2000, I have worked on many Broadway productions in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles."
-Clay Francis, UT Austin class of Œ99

ENLIGHTEN...
"The (UT) PAC's generous donations of tickets and collaboration to bring certain performances to the Children's Hospital of Austin have enabled the arts to be brought into the lives of children facing life-threatening illnesses. These performances provide a much-needed distraction from their lives and offer a sense of normalcy, and expand their world."
-Cynthia Fitzpatrick, Austin Children's Hospital

ENTERTAIN...
"The Performing Arts Center is a wonderful venue for Austinites to experience and share their love for the arts. As a growing corporate citizen of Austin, National Instruments is proud to support the PAC in bringing international performances to local audiences."

-Jeff Kodosky, Founder, National Instruments
